5 NFL teams on upset alert in Week 3
5. Green Bay Packers
Obviously the Eddie Lacy injury looms large for the Green Bay Packers heading into their Monday Night Football matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. There’s still the possibility that he takes the field and James Starks isn’t even an awful replacement. However, that uncertainty in addition to a litany of other injuries for the Packers could prove detriment against KC.
It’s more than just the injuries as to why the Pack should be on the lookout for an upset, though. In their Week One win, the one thing that the Chicago Bears were able to do successfully against Green Bay was use Matt Forte. Forte finished that game with 141 yards and a touchdown on the ground and five catches for 25 yards as well. That’s an important note as Green Bay comes up against the Chiefs. With Packer linebacker Sam Barrington out, the potential for Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles having a monster game is certainly there.
Moreover, the Chiefs are a talented 1-1 team, despite their devastating loss last Thursday. They have the pass rush to get after Aaron Rodgers and, at the very least, rush the star quarterback. With a long week to prepare and the chance to exploit some matchups, Kansas City has a prime opportunity to knock off the Packers at Lambeau Field.
