Alexis Sanchez carried Arsenal past Leicester City with a hat trick
Arsenal went down early to Leicester City on Saturday in their Premier League fixture, but the Gunners weren’t about to lie down after falling behind. After Theo Walcott netted the equalizer, it became the Alexis Sanchez show for Arsenal as the Chilean forward earned himself a hat trick.
Sanchez’s first goal of the afternoon came in the 33rd minute as Walcott deflected a low cross off the keeper, leaving Sanchez with a sitter on the left side of the box and the keeper scrambling to recover:
Sanchex struck again in the 57th minute as Arsenal were moving forward with an attack. Mesut Ozil delivered a high through ball through the air from the top of the box and the Chilean came streaking down the middle to rise up high and tuck the ball past the keeper for his second score of the day:
With two goals already in hand, Sanchez took it upon himself to deliver the final blow to Leicester. Off a throw in from the left side of the pitch, Sanchez took a beautiful touch around a defender and then unleashed a low-flying rocket into the bottom left corner of the goal:
Leicester was able to get one back after Sanchez’s hat trick, but Olivier Giroud added another for Arsenal for a 5-2 final. There’s no doubt that, if Sanchez can get back to this high-level of scoring, that Arsenal could climb even higher in the table and again have a title on their minds.
