Colin Kaepernick throws pair of pick-sixes (Video)
The San Francisco 49ers are trying to get back on track after a humiliating loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, facing the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately for the Bay Area, quarterback Colin Kaepernick did not get the memo.
Kaepernick is just crushing any hopes of an upset win on the road, tossing a pair of interceptions in the first five minutes of the opening quarter, with both being returned for touchdowns.
The 49ers need Kaepernick to be improved if they want any hope of making the playoffs in 2014. So far, Kaepernick has looked like an inconsistent quarterback who has trouble with accuracy and reading defenses. Kaepernick has not been able to learn progressions, and on Sunday, the Cardinals were able to take advantage of his poor technique and jump routes.
San Francisco went through a brutal offseason with the departures of Patrick Willis, Chris Borland, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Frank Gore, Mike Iupati, Anthony Davis and Michael Crabtree, to say nothing of head coach Jim Harbaugh. To this point, it appears Harbaugh’s replacement, Jim Tomsula, has all kinds of challenges ahead of him.
The 49ers are going to be fighting in the basement of the NFC West with the St. Louis Rams, who are 1-2 and inept on offense. At some point, these two teams will play each other, and someone will look respectable.
