4. Alex Gordon

Alex Gordon entered the MLB offseason ranked as one of the best outfielders available on the free agent market. It’s 2016 and he’s still available. The first round pick that is tied to him thanks to rejecting the qualifying offer from the Kansas City Royals likely has something to do with that. However, he shouldn’t remain on the MLB free agent market for much longer. If teams want to add a left-handed starting outfielder, they don’t have any better options than Gordon.

Gordon doesn’t have the power of the guys listed above him on this list. However, he is a consistent contact hitter who is still phenomenal defensively. He’s still good for about 15 to 20 home runs a year. If he signs with a team that plays at a hitter-friendly ballpark, that home run total could easily rise to over 20 homers.

Gordon is getting interest from multiple MLB teams, including the Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles. He still has time to pick and choose where he wants to play and for how much, but he better make his decision fast or he could find himself in the same situation that Nelson Cruz found himself in back in 2014. That’s not a horrible situation to be in. Just ask Cruz who turned a one-year prove it deal into over $40,000,000.
