OLB/S. USC. Su'a Cravens. 28. player. 56.
The Cincinnati Bengals defense was one of their greatest strengths in the 2015 regular season and one of the primary reasons why they won the AFC North. However, even with their strengths there is still room for improvement, particularly in the back of the secondary at the safety position. While Su’a Cravens is listed as an outside linebacker for the USC Trojans, he has all the tools to translate to a devastating strong safety.

Not only is Cravens a lengthy player with already great size at 6-1, 225 pounds, but his prospects as a safety go beyond just his physical attributes. When tested in pass coverage at USC, Cravens showed tremendous ability at not biting on moves or hesitations in routes and also in anticipating routes to break up plays. Moreover, the Trojans defender also has tremendous hands if he’s thrown at, able to haul in interceptions deftly if the opportunity presents itself.

With Cravens drawing comparisons at USC to another Trojans player and an NFL great that the Bengals are all too familiar with in Troy Polamalu, his potential as a strong safety at the next level really doesn’t need too much of an explanation. He could realistically develop into a superstar in the Cincinnati secondary and also address an area of need right away.
