Atlanta Hawks vs Indiana Pacers

The Atlanta Hawks had just put together a three-game win streak to extend their lead to two games in the Southeast Division, but recently losing two of three games has put some pressure on this team. Atlanta has been nothing more than average on the road this season with a 12-12 record, but Mike Budenholzer’s squad could be a dark-horse NBA Finals contender.

Paul Millsap and Al Horford have both been fantastic in the post for the Hawks. Millsap leads the team in scoring with 18.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per game while Horford is averaging a modest 15.2 points and 7.1 rebounds. Jeff Teague might be the glue that holds the team together while his backup, Dennis Schroder, is pushing him to be even better.

Losers of 7-of-9 games, the Indiana Pacers are the epitome of a struggling team. When it’s all said and done this season, Indiana could be one of the top-five teams in the Eastern Conference, but right now, some confidence needs to be built. Just one game over .500, the Pacers are on the fringe of eighth place in the conference and unless something gets fixed soon, they could keep plummeting.

Paul George is in his first full season back from his broken leg injury and he’s been nearly his old self, averaging 23.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and nearly two steals per contest. Monta Ellis, the team’s newest addition from the offseason, is the team’s second-leading scorer, but the usual three-point specialist is looking to get his shot back.
