Background

Mr. White is a high-ranking member of the international terrorist organization Quantum. Quantum is the evil organization behind the funding of Le Chiffre in Casino Royale and the plot of Dominic Greene in Quantum of Solace. It is later revealed in Spectre that Quantum is associated with the crime organization SPECTRE, led by Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Madeleine Swann is revealed to be Mr. White’s daughter in Spectre.

Evil Plot

Mr. White is first introduced in Casino Royale, where he acts as the intermediary between Le Chiffre and Steven Obanno during their financial transaction. Le Chiffre later loses Obanno’s money, and fails to win it back in a poker tournament thanks to James Bond’s intervention. As a result, Mr. White assassinates Le Chiffre, allowing a captured Bond to escape alive.

Following Le Chiffre’s death, Bond and Vesper Lynd retire to a life of solitude with the tournament winnings. Lynd is captured by Quantum agents, and Mr. White is able to steal the money. All of this results in the death of Lynd, but she leaves Bond Mr. White’s location on her phone. Bond meets Mr. White there, shoots him in the leg, and captures him.

Quantum of Solace begins with a car chase, in which Quantum agents are in hot pursuit of Bond, who is carrying Mr. White in his trunk.

Bond evades Quantum, and takes Mr. White in for interrogation. During this interrogation, an MI6 agent Mitchell opens fire on the other MI6 members present, and Mr. White is allowed to escape.

Mr. White is briefly seen later in the film in a meeting with other Quantum members at an opera, which Bond infiltrates, but Mr. White escapes again.

Death

Bond travels to meet Mr. White in Spectre in order to get information about SPECTRE. Mr. White is haggard and disheveled, and it is revealed that he is slowly dying. He gives Bond information, then shoots himself in the head with Bond’s Walther PPK.
