1. Give Ben McLemore a new home

If the Sacramento Kings want to add defense and get a better intensity on the court, then it might be time to move on from shooting guard Ben McLemore. McLemore just hasn’t taken off as a player in this league, despite showing the occasional glimpses of potential.

He’s a streaky player and could benefit from being on another roster. If the Kings want to add defense, toughness and intensity to their team going forward, they should give the Bulls a call and see if they would be interested in a McLemore for Kirk Hinrich swap.

The Bulls could add another young shooting guard that could learn from some of the better superstars in the league and could perhaps take off in a less volatile environment and the Kings would be getting another veteran to add to the roster as they get ready to make a stretch run.

If the Kings are serious about making a push for the playoffs and improving their defense, they have to get guys that they know will make the effort and get rid of the guys that won’t be of any help in that department.

The Kings need to go all in on a philosophy and building a veteran team might be the only way to have success in Sacramento again.
