3. Todd Richards

Todd Richards would be a solid replacement for Mike Yeo. It would be quite ironic if Richards, a victim of a huge slump by the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier this season, replaced the victim of another slow start in Yeo. Richards is highly respected around the league and would be a solid replacement for Yeo.

He has a career record of 204 wins with 176 losses and 37 overtime losses. Richards is known as a players coach. That would most certainly be a welcome change to the extremely emotional and rigid Yeo. Richards has let an overachieving team to the playoffs before. He did so with the Blue Jackets. That proves that Richards can get the most out of his guys. Looking at the roster of the Wild, there’s definitely talent there.

Richards should definitely be intrigued by the Wild as well. They have a strong core of guys led by Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. Minnesota even has quite the crop of talented young players that should pique his interest. Todd Richards is likely waiting it out for an offer that he can’t refuse. The Minnesota Wild should consider giving him that offer to replace Mike Yeo. Richards would be a very solid choice for Minnesota.
