According to a report, the New Orleans Pelicans are not expected to trade point guard Jrue Holiday at the trade deadline.

The NBA Trade Deadline is drawing near on Thursday, and just about every player in the league has been connected to rumors in some way. One player that has been connected to rumors is New Orleans Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday.

The Pelicans have a down season this year and they are ready to hit the reset button as they try to build around Anthony Davis. As a result, the Pelicans could look to move some of their veteran pieces as they try to recoup assets and rebuild around Davis.

While teams have been interested in Holiday, it doesn’t look like the Pelicans have any interest in moving him. According to Marc J. Spears, the Pelicans value Holiday and don’t have any interest in moving him at the deadline on Thursday.

When the Pelicans acquired Holiday on draft night in 2013, they gave up a high pick to get him and when he’s healthy on the court with Davis, they’re a much better team than with him off of it. They’re unlikely to recoup the value they gave up to get him.

It always takes a big offer to make a team re-consider their options, but the Pelicans really like Holiday and it seems likely he will be sticking in New Orleans after Thursday.
