NFL Mock Draft 2016: Pre-Scouting Combine edition

The NFL world will descend on Indianapolis this week, as the focus of the league shifts toward the 2016 NFL Draft. The Super Bowl is now firmly in the past and the draft takes center stage for the next three months, with a high-end emphasis on what transpires in Indy this week.

In this space, we will take the opportunity to “mock” the first round of the draft as things stand right now. It should be noted that a lot can change during the athletic testing and, especially, during the interview process in Indianapolis, but there is still some real intelligence behind where players currently slot in and there is value in that. In addition, evidence exists that would point out just how overrated the actual measurables are in Indianapolis, and with many of the top prospects electing to sit out part or all of the process, not every question will be answered in full.

There is nothing quite like the reckless speculation that accompanies the NFL Draft, and there is real enjoyment that accompanies it. With that as the backdrop, let’s roll out the 31 (yes, 31) selections that will occupy the first round. Put your flame-throwers away, at least for now.
