DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 26
High Salary PF
DeMarcus Cousins-Sacramento Kings (10,600): Cousins is the most expensive player on the board tonight by 1,000, and there’s no doubt he deserves it. Cousins was almost completely “shut down” on Wednesday by the Spurs and still managed 22 points and ten rebounds for 40.5 fantasy points. Before that, Cousins had over 54 fantasy points in three straight games and had posted that many in six of his last nine contests. Cousins almost always brings his top game at home and he’ll be at Sleep Train Arena tonight as he faces the Clippers. Cousins should be able to bounce back against the Clippers suspect interior defense and go for a monster game tonight. His salary means you’ll need to save elsewhere, but he’s a solid piece to build around since I think he’ll recover nicely from his 8-23 shooting performance against San Antonio. ∗∗∗
Paul Millsap-Atlanta Hawks (7,800): Millsap costs much less than Boogie and can deliver solid return on your investment when he’s on top of his game. He definitely was not against th Warriors when he shot just 4-13 and finished with 24.25 fantasy points on Tuesday, but a good matchup in Chicago and a few days off should help him bounce back. Millsap had 56.7 fantasy points in his previous game against Milwaukee, so the potential for explosion is definitely still there. Millsap played just 27 minutes when these teams met just before the break but still had a solid 28 fantasy points on 15 points, four boards, two assists, and two steals. Since I think he’ll play more tonight, he should be over 30 fantasy points fairly easily and be able to approach the big game he had on Sunday against the Bucks.∗∗
Kevin Love-Cleveland Cavaliers (7,400): Love burned me and the rest of his owners on Wednesday against Charlotte finishing with just eight points and two rebounds thanks to 4-11 shooting and the game turning into a runaway against the Hornets. His 16.5 fantasy points broke a string of three straight with at least 37 fantasy points coming out of the All Star break. I think he’ll bounce back tonight against Toronto in what should be a closer game especially since Love has averaged 17.5 points and 11 rebounds in his two games this season against the Raptors. ∗∗∗
Aaron Gordon-Orlando Magic (6,500): Gordon has been a breakout star the last few weeks and his monster dunk contest is only part of the story. Gordon has at least 31 fantasy points in each of his last seven games and had double-digit rebounds in six straight before only pulling in eight rebounds (but scoring 19 points) against the Warriors last night. Since Gordon is such an emerging option, I like him to play plenty of minutes again tonight against the Knicks especially since the Magic may have to go bigger to deal with Porzingis and Anthony. ∗∗∗∗
Dirk Nowitzki-Dallas Mavericks (6,300): While he’s on the other end of his career from Gordon, Dirk still has some game left in him as he’s shown over his last few games with at least 30 fantasy points in four of his last five contests and an impressive 33 points and 44.5 fantasy points against the Thunder on Wednesday night. Dirk is in a good place to post big numbers tonight against the Nuggets who allow the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing PF. ∗∗∗
Julius Randle-Los Angeles Lakers (6,000): Randle and the Lakers come back to LA to finish their home-and-home against Memphis tonight, and Randle started the set with an 11-poitn, 14-rebound double-double for 29 fantasy points on Wednesday. Randle has at least 29 fantasy points in six of his last nine contests and will keep getting plenty of time the rest of the way since he’s locked in as the team’s starting PF. He’s a nightly double-double threat and will probably go off for some monster nights as well. He has a ton of upside and is pretty low-risk although he can throw up a dud from time to time (like he did Monday in Milwaukee). ∗∗∗∗
Myles Turner-Indiana Pacers (6,000): Another emerging young option at PF is Myles Turner who is getting tons of time and usage for the Pacers. Turner has at least 27 fantasy points in six of his last seven games and posted 33 fantasy points on Wednesday in New York on 24 points, six rebounds, and a steal. He didn’t block a shot in that game snapping a string of three straight games with multiple swats. Tonight, he’ll take on the Hornets who allow the tenth-most fantasy points in the NBA to opposing PF, so look for Turner to continue his success. ∗∗∗
