Let’s take a look at the Detroit Lions’ 2016 complete seven-round mock draft.

Jim Caldwell’s second season as the Detroit Lions’ head coach wasn’t ideal. After a 1-7 start to the year, though, the Lions went 6-2 and nearly made a run at a playoff spot. The Lions’ upper management sat down to discuss Caldwell’s future with the organization and decided he would get at least another year.

Detroit has been far from a powerhouse organization in the NFL and have arguably been one of the worst professional franchises in all of sports. However, there is talent in place to turn things around and make the Lions a playoff threat for years to come.

The 2016 NFL Draft will be a very important one for the Lions, though. Watching Calvin Johnson retire was something that every Lions fan had nightmares about following Barry Sanders’ early retirement.

Without one of the league’s best wide receivers, Matt Stafford and the rest of the offense will need to figure things out. Amber Abdullah was drafted last year to take over as the top running back and he will ease into that role this season. Detroit added wide out Marvin Jones in the offseason to complement Golden Tate — but are either No. 1 worthy?

Question marks are everywhere with this team and the draft could address many of them, including offensive line woes. How else will Stafford stay healthy if he doesn’t have a line to hold up for more than a second or two?
