The New York Yankees finally respond to Last Week Tonight host John Oliver’s fantastic trolling over elitists premium seating.

This week HBO’s John Oliver took aim at the New York Yankees for their perceived pretentiousness when it comes to their new premium seating policy.

The Last Week Tonight host called out Yankee COO Lonn Trost, for the celebrated New York team’s decision to stop accepting print-at-home at games.

This maneuver was apparently instated as a way to discourage the reselling of tickets, but also as a way of keeping premium seats out of the hands of less than favorable patrons.

In a case of top class trolling, Olive took to the airwaves to launch his #IHaveNeverSatInAPremiumLocation contest, where entrants would be given the opportunity to purchase high profile seats from the Yankee’s Legends Club section as long as they dressed in ridiculous costumes while at the game.

Due to the fact that many of these premium seats in Yankee stadium often go unoccupied, Last Week Tonight was able to easily purchase two tickets to the Yankees first three games this week. Needless to say, the contest garnered quite the reaction. All week long Fans clad head to toe in unicorn, shark and teenage mutant ninja turtle costumes invaded the posh priority seating of Yankee stadium.

Yesterday during the bottom of  the 7th inning of yesterday’s game against the Houston Astros, the Yankees finally responded to Oliver’s stunt. Thursday’s contest winners Nick Turchak and Chris Chestnut were highlighted as the Fan Marquee fans of the game on the jumbotron.

The Yankees also provided the message “Thanks John Oliver! Everyone is welcome in Yankee Stadium.”
