Here’s a look at the best trade that each MLB team has ever made.

In the MLB, teams make both good trades and bad trades. They tend to even themselves out in the long run as teams that contend are more willing to give up prized prospects for potential upgrades. Evaluating prospects is a science that very few, if any, have figured out.

Good trades can save a franchise or reverse its bad fortunes. Those trades can also help propel a team to heights that they had previously been incapable of reaching. Why they are good trades can vary. Perhaps the team gave up a veteran for some prospects who panned out. Maybe they fooled a team into overpaying for someone who wasn’t that good. Perhaps the team found a great player for a cheap price.

Whatever the reason, each team has made at least one trade that was a great one for them. Some trades were greater than others, but each MLB team’s fanbase can look at at least one trade and say “thank you” to another team.

Trades will be judged on several factors. First of all, what did the team give up? Secondly, what did they get back? Thirdly, how did the pieces involved in the trade do after the trade? Fourthly, how significant of a win for the team was the trade?

Without further ado, here is the best trade that each baseball team has ever made.
