Uncharted 4 sells 2.7 million games in first week

Uncharted 4 has an incredible first week of sales.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End hit the market on May 10. Now that sales numbers are in, we know that by the end of its first week of availability, 2.7 million units of the game were sold. That total includes both physical and digital versions. The absurdly high one-week total set a record for fastest-selling first-party PlayStation 4 games.
Uncharted 4 picks up three years after Uncharted 3 leaves off. The protagonist, Nathan Drake, has given up fortune hunting and is enjoying a life of peaceful domesticity. Since Uncharted 4 is not part of the Sims franchise, we know this life of relative leisure will be short-lived. When his brother Sam needs help, Drake is quick to embark on yet another adventure. This time, Drake’s goal is to find Captain Henry Avery’s treasure and find Libertalia, a pirate colony in Madagascar founded during the 17th century.
There are worthwhile upgrades over previous iterations of the game. Maps are much more extensive, enemies are more intuitive thanks to enhanced artificial intelligence, and Drake’s companions are more helpful. The release of Uncharted 4 was delayed over a year, but it seems the longer wait was well worth it.
If you aren’t playing one of the 2.7 million copies that were sold earlier this month in the first week of the game’s release, you’ve had time to check out reviews. Uncharted 4 is a low-risk purchase. It currently boasts a rating of 93 on Metacritic and has generated effusive praise from regular users and industry experts alike.
