SG. Kentucky. Jamal Murray . 5. player. 86. Jamal Murray might be my favorite player in this draft, for no reason other than the fact that he shoots arrows into opposing team’s hearts, both literally and figuratively. After a ridiculous freshman campaign at The University of Kentucky averaging 20 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 45 percent overall and 41 percent from distance, the 19-year old Canadian will take his talents to The Association.

The Timberwolves have Ricky Rubio, Zach LaVine and Shabazz Muhammed in the back court but adding a sharpshooter like Murray will only help the team overall. Spacing is vital in the NBA and giving Karl Anthony-Towns and Andrew Wiggins more one-on-one matchups will be the key to success for this franchise moving forward. Another huge benefit is that the 6-5 guard can play both the off guard and lead guard positions if needed. He didn’t play point guard often at Kentucky but he showed this ability playing for Canada in the Pan-American games last summer and he was quite effective for them.

Murray is only 19-years old and adds another horse to Minnesota’s growing stable. The Timberwolves have suffered through some abysmal seasons of late, but things are on the rise and they should be terrifying for years to come.
