69. If both Dunn and Murray are off the board, I see the New Orleans Pelicans pulling the trigger on a score-happy guard named Buddy Hield. Eric Gordon and Norris Cole are both off the books for next season and the Pelicans might be best letting the oft-injured Gordon find employment elsewhere. This leaves a gaping hole at the shooting guard position and while the Pellies have Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans in the backcourt, Hield can certainly help with shooting off the bench.

Hield is a rare breed in the sense that he’s a four-year college guy who is still likely to be taken in the top-10 of the NBA draft; it just doesn’t seem to happen anymore. While he’s already the ripe old age of 22, that shouldn’t be looked at as a downfall, but rather a benefit seeing as he should be more prepared to play in a team’s rotation immediately.

There are still questions as to whether he can succeed in The Association as a 6-4 wing, especially on the defensive end. However, his innate scoring ability — true shooting percentage of 66.5 last season — mixed with the fact that he was uber high-volume with a 30.22 usage rate in his senior season, and all signs point to a solid contributor.
