player. 73. This is the first of three first round picks for the Denver Nuggets — a team who finished 2015/16 with a 33-49 record. The future looks pretty solid for Denver however as they found some gems in Emmanuel Mudiay and Nikola Jokic last season. They had to endure some injuries to major contributors in Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari and Jusuf Nurkic so they could have challenged for a playoff spot this season and that will likely be the goal in 2016/17.

Seeing that they do have picks to play with, a homerun swing on an electric Timothe Luwawu is just the ticket here. Luwawu is 20-years old and has the prototypical body for a “3-and-D” player in today’s NBA. He’s 6-7 with a never-ending 6-11 wingspan and all the tools needed to develop into a starter in this league. Is No. 7 too early? Maybe, but he isn’t likely to fall to them at No. 15 so if they get enamored with him leading up to the draft this is the spot to nab him.

He was able to shoot 37.2 percent from 3-point range in the Adriatic League for Mega Leks this past season and his defense already quite solid for a young prospect. The luxury for Denver is they can bring him along pretty slowly with Chandler, Gary Harris, and Will Barton running the wings for them next season. Luwawu can learn the NBA game for a season and then really start to show his worth in the two or three years following his rookie year.
