When is E3 2016?
By Nick Tylwalk
It might be slightly smaller this year, but E3 2016 still looms as the largest event around for lovers of video games.
Much has been made about who won’t be at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. But even without some major video game companies erecting booths on the floor of the Los Angeles Convention Center, E3 2016 is going to once again be a big deal.
That’s because even companies like EA who have opted not to set up inside on the show floor are still holding their press events to show off what’s coming down the pike (along with a new venture that will show off the games to the public, meaning people who won’t be inside E3 proper). And those events will be timed to hit during the days before the show, just as they have been for the past few years.
So the significance of E3 2016 is all but assured. The actual trade show takes place June 14-16, running to Tuesday through Thursday in keeping with tradition.
A number of companies will hold press events on Sunday and Monday, taking fans right up to the beginning of the show. EA and Bethesda will show off their new wares on Sunday, June 12, Xbox, Ubisoft, Sony and a variety of PC gaming companies will follow suit on Monday, June 13, and Nintendo will hold its two-day Treehouse June 13-14.

While plenty of news will break during the show hours, those Sunday and Monday events promise to be a blizzard of announcements and reveals, so if you only have time to glue yourself to gaming news for a few days, those are the two that stand out.
