Is Injustice 2 about to be revealed at E3 2016?

Get ready for more DC superheroes and villains clashing in classic fighting game style.

When Injustice: Gods Among Us was first shown off at E3 2012, it seemed like a no-brainer concept.

The heroes and villains from DC Comics in a fighting game all their own from Mortal Kombat creators NetherRealm Studios? That worked for plenty of people, and it didn’t hurt that the game turned our nicely and featured an all-new story to boot.

Fast-forward four years and we might be in for a sequel announcement in the next week or so. That’s because Polygon received an image of a promotional poster for Injustice 2, one that shows Batman and the Flash about to throw down. Game Informer also received that same image, which you can see here:

Supposedly, the posters are goodies to be given to people who pre-order the game. Their existence means pre-orders should be opening soon, which in turn means the game should be announced soon.

And what do you know? We’re less than a week away from E3 2016, which would be an oh so logical place for said announcement. Since both Batman and Flash are sporting slightly different looks than they did in the first game, it’ll be interesting to see if Injustice 2 features an all new story of a parallel Earth gone wrong or somehow builds off the first one.
