Norman Reedus is totally down to play Ghost Rider

Norman Reedus plays the coolest guy on The Walking Dead. To further cement the theory that Daryl Dixon’s coolness was not just because of the scripting, Reedus’s summer show with AMC, Ride with Norman Reedus, is literally about Reedus riding around the country on a motorcycle and meeting new people.
So, let’s put two and two together: familiarity with comic book adaptations + motorcycles = Ghost Rider, right? Right.
Uproxx, in an interview released today, has done the same arithmetic and gotten the same answer, and so asked Norman Reedus what he thought of the idea.
He was not shy about his response.
"“Hell yeah. It would be a blast. Do I get a skull face that’s on fire and all that stuff? F**k yeah. I’m down.”"
That’s the enthusiasm that makes us think he’d be a perfect fit for the role.

He was even kind enough to mention that he liked Nicolas Cage’s take on the character. If you’ll remember, Columbia Pictures made two Ghost Rider flicks. The 2007 Ghost Rider was vaguely passable, but 2012’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance was…Let’s just say we can see why there wasn’t a third movie.
As noted by Comic Book Resources, the rights to the character are now back in the hands of Marvel Studios and have been since 2013. It’d be very easy to see Ghost Rider get the Daredevil/Punisher treatment, also known as “a way better adaptation done by Marvel.”
Hey, speaking of Daredevil, Netflix greenlit a The Punisher series after seeing how well Jon Bernthal was received during Daredevil‘s second season. Ghost Rider seems like it might be an excellent fit for a Netflix series to follow The Defenders.

Who knows? After all, Daryl Dixon might be revealed to have been killed during The Walking Dead‘s season seven premiere, so Norman Reedus might be looking for a job.
Ride with Norman Reedus will premiere June 12 on AMC.
