1. Trade for Blake Griffin

This one has already been discussed, and there apparently was already an offer on the table. The reported trade was on the table before the trade deadline however, which meant that if the Nuggets were to pull the trigger on it, they would have acquired an injured Griffin.

The last we saw of Griffin was another injured version of Blake, but with all of the time off it seems like his stock should be a bit higher. He does only have one year left on his contract, and Denver may not be his final destination which may lower the cost to obtain him, but they would have to hope that his connection this year with Mudiay and company would give Griffin the confidence to stay in Denver long term.

The reported trade was Barton, Gallinari, Faried and Jokic for Griffin. The Nuggets were not interested in losing Jokic for an injured big man who is not tied down. You have to wonder if the seventh overall pick in place of Jokic would be enough to entice the Clippers.

The Nuggets would have to be excited to do that deal and may even throw in their later first round pick to keep Jokic, and their two-center system, then add Griffin to the mix as the power forward.

For the Clippers they are adding the pieces that would make this team thrive in a life without Griffin, and with the two draft picks can focus on a potential life without Paul in the next four years or so.
