DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy baseball catchers-June 27
Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 27 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Brian McCann, Yankees (4,800): McCann has not had a career season, but he does have seven hits over his last five games, including a pair of home runs. McCann is hitting 30 points higher against righties this season, and on Monday will face Texas Rangers righty Chi Chi Gonzalez, who will be making his first start of the 2016 season. McCann’s upside is high in this matchup.
Salvador Perez, Royals (4,400): Perez has just two hits over his last four games, but he’s still hitting nearly .300 this season. The 2015 World Series Most Valuable Player is still one of the game’s top catchers, and he’s certainly a solid play Monday against St. Louis Cardinals veteran Adam Wainwright (6-4, 4.73 ERA). Perez is hitting .303 against right-handers this season.
High Value
Nick Hundley, Rockies (3,200): Hundley has hit safely in six straight games, a stretch that also includes three games of double-digit fantasy points. He’s a great target on Monday in a home game against the Toronto Blue Jays that, barring something unforeseen, should be a high-scoring affair. Hundley is cheap exposure to fantasy goodness.
Jason Castro, Astros (3,000): This is a GPP-only play, but there is upside here. Castro is hitting .261 with all six of his home runs against right-handed pitchers this season. That makes it easier to overlook his 3-for-13 career mark against Los Angeles righty Matt Shoemaker (3-8, 4.43 ERA).
