2. Sacramento Kings

It’s safe to say the Kings and Rondo need to start over. No, not together but the two should clean the slate separately. Although Rondo and head coach George Karl joked about a non-existent feud, the Kings didn’t experience much success with Rajon running point and that’s because they need much more help than he can provide.

The Kings need a young, do-it-all point guard who can create some offense for himself as well as for others. Rondo has done a solid job of passing the ball, averaging an impressive 11.7 assists per game with the Kings, but both sides probably realized it was a likely one-year rental option/trial.

Rondo’s offense just isn’t enough for the Kings as he put up just 11.9 points per game and he’s not the kind of guy who’s going to light up a scoreboard. He won’t average 15-20 points per night and shoot lights out from distance. Heck, he’s even one of the worst free-throw shooting guards in the league.

Sacramento needs a guy who can come in, shoot the three, average six assists per game and about 15 points  per contest. Rondo is not that guy.

There’s so much more that this 33-49 team needs that Rondo cannot provide, and it’s youth and scoring. Rondo would be a much better fit on a team with plenty of scoring that needs a guy to facilitate and run the offense. He will never be a go-to option.
