5. Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are on the rise in the Eastern Conference after landing Al Horford in free agency. Add in the Celtics adding a bunch of young talent through the draft and the Celtics are having the perfect blend of youth and talent on the roster, while maintaining assets and flexibility for the future.

However, the Celtics have a lot of assets and only so many roster spots to go around for the young talent that they currently possess. Perhaps trading some of those assets for a player like Rudy Gay would go a long way for Boston.

They have Jae Crowder as their stretch man presumably next to Al Horford in the lineup, but adding another player like Gay would give the Celtics even more flexibility and depth along the forward spot.

Gay has proven that he can be a solid two-way player in this league and he would be a valuable veteran addition to help Boston out on offense. We already know that the Celtics have a plethora of good defenders, but they could use a little more sizzle offensively.

They have pieces that would be appealing to Sacramento and wouldn’t have to give up the farm to get him either. It makes a lot of sense.
