Could this be the WWE Universal Championship belt for the new top title on WWE RAW?

After WWE Battleground when Dean Ambrose retained the WWE Championship, there were many questions about what would be happening at the top of the card on WWE RAW considering that the top title in the company was now on Smackdown. They answered that on the RAW after Battleground when Mick Foley and Shane McMahon announced the formation of the WWE Universal Championship.

Throughout the rest of the show, WWE then determined the two men who would be squaring off at WWE SummerSlam for the WWE Universal Championship—or rather determined who would be facing Seth Rollins for the title. That honor was ultimately won by Finn Balor.

However, the big question facing everyone now is what exactly the WWE Universal Championship belt is going to look like. On Tuesday during Smackdown, an image began circulating on Twitter that was reportedly a leaked image of the new belt:

That looks incredible right? But the real question is if that’s actually going to be the WWE Universal Championship belt or not.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it at all. After that image was sent the way of Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, a follower replied to show that the “leaked image” was actually just a photoshop of the old (awesome) winged eagle belt:

While this doesn’t rule that being the actual belt for WWE RAW’s new top title out completely, it does make it seem far less likely. Then again, they could just be remixing the old winged eagle belt for this new title. All we know for sure is that we know nothing for sure right now and will have to wait and see.
