Mitch Trubisky

QB, UNC

Oh to be a New York Jets fan. One year after seeing your team barely miss out on the playoffs, Jets fans saw their team win only five games in 2016. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had a magical year in 2015, reverted back to his old ways, throwing more passes to the opposition than to his own teammates. The quarterback position is an absolute mess in New York, and they may look to draft a new QB in April.

Last April, the Jets drafted Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg with their second-round pick, and that really did not pay off. Hackenberg was basically a practice player all year, and all signs point to him being a multi-year project. At No. 6, the Jets should take a serious look at University of North Carolina signal-caller Mitch Trubisky, who has the talent to start right away at the next level.

Trubisky started only one season in Chapel Hill, but it was enough to show scouts that he has all the physical abilities to be a starter in the NFL. He has a rocket for a right arm, and makes very good decisions with the football. His experience may make teams shy away, but the Jets hole at quarterback may be too big to pass up Trubisky with their first round pick this year.
