Mike Williams

WR, Clemson

And just like that, the Chargers were gone. That has to be the sentiment in San Diego, where their beloved Chargers hit the road to move to La La Land this offseason. Now settled in Hollywood, it is time for the Chargers to get down to business, and the April draft will be their first chance to really make a splash as they head into next season.

Mike Williams of the Clemson Tigers is the best wide receiver prospect in this draft, and may be one of the best prospects at the position we have seen in a long time. His gutty effort in the Tigers’ National Championship Game victory was the stuff of legend, and the Chargers need to bring in some star power as they head to Los Angeles. 2016 first round pick Joey Bosa had an incredible rookie season, and Williams could have the same impact on the other side of the ball.

Keenan Allen has been the team’s top option at wide receiver for a few seasons now, though he has had trouble staying healthy. The Chargers need to bring in some depth at the position, and Williams would enable Allen to move to the WR2 spot on the roster. Williams can do it all, and quarterback Philip Rivers will love throwing to a target like him for the remainder of his career.
