Ricky Seals-Jones

Wide Receiver, Texas A&M Aggies

Texas A&M is one of those programs where wide receivers gain notoriety due to the offensive system in place. Head coach Kevin Sumlin has brought stability to the SEC West program via the Air Raid attack.

The Texas A&M Aggies have had many solid draft picks since Sumlin took over in 2012. It does not seem that wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones will end up being one of those guys. He lacked the foot speed to carve out a role in an NFL offense.

Seals-Jones ran the third slowest 40-yard dash of 4.69. While he did well in the bench press with 17 reps at 225 pounds, his vertical of 28 inches was second worst among wideouts. He also ran the slowest three-cone time of 7.46 seconds.

He could use strength to his advantage as a possession receiver, but it does not seem that Seals-Jones offers a great catch radius at the next level. While he could be good in run-blocking, what good is that if he can’t get open on obvious passing situations at the next level?
