Batman and Harley Quinn voice cast revealed

Batman and Harley Quinn features a familiar voice for the Dark Knight and a new one for Harley Quinn.

Batman will reluctantly team up with one of his most famous adversaries, Harley Quinn, in the upcoming Batman and Harley Quinn animated film from Warner Bros. Animation. This actually won’t be the very first time this hero and villain have worked together as it happened several times in the seminal Batman: The Animated Series. This will be the first feature-length film featuring the reluctant comic book character pairing, however.

In Batman and Harley Quinn, the two reluctant partners, along with Nightwing, must stop Poison Ivy and the Plant Master (yes, he’s totally real, look him up) from causing a global catastrophe. As Harley Quinn is often a close friend and sometimes girlfriend of Poison Ivy, it’ll be interesting to see why she is working against Ivy instead of with her. Though Harley Quinn usually isn’t a fan of ending the world, so she may just think her friend is going too far.

Today Empire revealed the voice cast for the Batman and Harley Quinn movie. It features the person most consider to be the definitive voice of the Caped Crusader, Kevin Conroy, as Batman. Conroy has voiced the role in numerous shows and video games for 25 years now. The cast also includes Loren Lester as Nightwing. Much like Conroy, Lester has been voicing Dick Grayson, be it as Robin or Nightwing, in various projects for 25 years as well.

Harley Quinn however, will be voiced by Melissa Rauch, who plays Bernadette on the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. Quite a few different women have voiced Quinn over the decades since her creation, but easily the most iconic are Tara Strong and Arleen Sorkin, so it’s a bit of a shame neither of them got the role.

Batman and Harley Quinn looks to take place outside of the current DC animated movie continuity and is more of a throwback to the style of those classic DC animated shows from over 20 years ago. It is due for release this summer on Blu-Ray, Digital HD and DVD.
