LaVar Ball provided some specific criteria (via his Twitter) as to what makes you a “Big Baller”.

Lonzo Ball unveiled his first signature shoe to the public on Mar. 4. The ZO2’s are hitting the market for a whopping $495. Big Baller Brand (BBB) owner and Lonzo’s father, LaVar Ball, took to his Twitter account following the unveiling. The outspoken father of three had a simple response to the skepticism of his son’s shoe.

Now that LaVar has outlined a specification for being a “Big Baller”, we thought we would take you through some more guidelines. Chances are, if you fall under a few of these classifications, you are indeed a Big Baller.

Let’s see if you are truly a Big Baller in the eyes of Papa Ball! You’re probably a Big Baller if you…

5. Peak in high school (and/or community college)

Now, let’s get one thing straight, these guidelines are strictly following the life of LaVar, not his son’s. Lonzo might be an NBA star, but LaVar Ball peaked in high school, plain and simple.

Yes, he ‘played for’ the Jets, but LaVar was immediately sent to the London Monarchs on loan. Some readers might be too young to even remember who the Monarchs were and that further proves my point. (The Monarchs were a part of NFL Europe; a developmental spring league in, you guessed it, Europe. The league disbanded in 2007).

LaVar spent the entirety of his NFL career with the Monarchs or on the practice squad for the Jets and Panthers. Now, let’s talk about his basketball “career”.

LaVar, standing 6-foot-4, broke his school’s rebound record in his only season playing high school ball.

According to his Wikipedia page, LaVar tallied 33 points and 18 rebounds in his first game for West Los Angeles College. He then transferred to Washington State venturing into the D1 ranks. However, LaVar averaged just 2.2 points before transferring once again.

His collegiate basketball career ended at Cal State Los Angeles. LaVar’s mediocracy at the collegiate and professional levels prove that his athletic career reached its peak during his teenage years.

If your athletic career reached its climax during high school, you’re well on your way to becoming a Big Baller.
