12. Vince McMahon wins the WWF Championship on SmackDown!; 1999

In no logical booking plan should Vince McMahon ever win a championship, especially the most important title in his company.

And yet, he’s not only won a Royal Rumble match, he won the WWF Championship back in 1999 on an edition of SmackDown! thanks to the assistance … of Stone Cold Steve Austin?

Similarly to the first statement, in no logical booking plan should Stone Cold Steve Austin ever help Vince McMahon. (Except the weird Stephanie McMahon-Undertaker kidnapping storyline because that was pretty good from Austin in the end.)

Still, McMahon was defending his family honor against the evil WWF Champion Triple H in a No DQ match for the gold, and thanks to Austin, McMahon was placed on top of a basically knocked-out HHH by Austin and won the title.

Yes, Vince McMahon defeated Triple H and won the WWF Championship. For real.

Here’s why this didn’t make any sense: 10 days later, Triple H won a Six-Pack Challenge at the Unforgiven pay-per-view in a match officiated by Stone Cold and won the vacated title back.

So, to recap: the company’s hottest heel loses a match and the title to the owner of the company. What does that do for anyone?
