Watch Cris Cyborg punch Angela Magaña at UFC retreat (Video)

Watch the heated confrontation between UFC featherweight Cris Cyborg and the outspoken strawweight Angela Magaña at UFC athlete retreat

Don’t get on UFC featherweight contender Cris Cyborg’s bad side.

Over the weekend, the majority of the UFC roster descended into Las Vegas for an athletes retreat, hosted by UFC officials and the new owners at WME-IMG.

But what was supposed to be a weekend of learning, discussion and fun quickly turned sour when Cyborg confronted outspoken UFC strawweight Angela Magaña over a past tweet making fun of her appearance during an event with cancer patients in Brazil.

After several heated words between the two, MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani reported the exchange eventually turned physical as Cyborg punched Magaña in the face. FanSided’s Cage Pages obtained exclusive video of the incident.

Magaña confirmed the incident, stating she was pressing charges against Cyborg while claiming the Brazilian was going through “roid rage” and was “getting arrested.”

Magaña (11-8), who rose to prominence with her unfiltered approach to social media, has not been seen inside a UFC Octagon since her third-round submission loss to Michelle Waterson in 2015. This not only marked her fourth straight setback, but also dropped her UFC record to 0-2.

The woman known as ‘Your Majesty’ previously suffered a decision loss in her UFC debut to Tecia Torres at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale in December. A longtime veteran of the sport, Magaña has competed against some of the most prominent female fighters in the business, including current UFC fighter Jessica Eye and Jessica Aguilar as well as former Invicta FC flyweight champion Barb Honhack.

Cyborg (17-1) made her highly anticipated UFC debut in May with a violent the first-round TKO over Leslie Smith at UFC 198. She followed this up with the decimation of  Lina Länsberg in the main event of UFC Fight Night 95.

Not soon after, the UFC announced the official introduction of the women’s featherweight division. Since then Cyborg has continued to campaign for a shot at current champion Germaine de Randamie or current Invicta champion Megan Anderson.
