As a boxing veteran, Floyd “Money” Mayweather knows how important sponsorship is leading up to massive fights. Here are five corporate sponsors who could walk out with Mayweather.

For the last fight of his career, Floyd Mayweather is looking to cash in. By taking a fight against UFC superstar Conor McGregor, Mayweather is putting his legacy and undefeated record on the betting table in what could be the biggest gamble of his career.

But it’s a risk he is gladly taking.

Coming into the fight at an outstanding 49-0, Mayweather has proven time and time again that he is among the best there ever is or was in boxing. There are only a few fighters who have reached legendary status like this and there is no doubt that Mayweather is at the top with them.

Before he enters the ring one last time, something that needs to be taken care of is his sponsorship. At this time, the word on who is sponsoring Mayweather has been fairly quiet and we are at an alarming eight days before the fight happens.

Unfortunately, sponsoring Mayweather hasn’t always been the easiest task to accomplish considering his less than pleasant past riddled with domestic violence and criminal convictions.

The bottom line is: no one wants to take the risk in sponsoring someone like Mayweather.

Despite this, he could still get sponsorship from companies who see his potential going into yet another monstrous fight. When he faced Manny Pacquiao in 2015, companies were chomping at the bit to be a part of this historic event and only a select few secured their spot as a sponsor.

The same should be expected leading up to Aug. 26.
