It’s finally Madden season, and fans can’t wait to play with their favorite teams. In honor of that, here’s every NFL franchise’s best Madden player ever.

It’s finally that time of the year where football fans come out of hiding and prepare for the regular season to get underway. One surefire way to know the season is starting is the release of Madden every year, and Madden 18 is finally here for gamers to enjoy.

Madden fans love to pick up the game each year to get new features in the gameplay, but the biggest reason tends to be the updated rosters and the opportunity to play with any new acquisitions your favorite team makes in the offseason. Whether it’s Marshawn Lynch on the Oakland Raiders, Jeremy Maclin on the Ravens, or even new draft picks like Myles Garrett, Mitch Trubisky or Leonard Fournette.

While some teams get loads of new talent each year, one of the better parts of the game is seeing how certain stars improve as they stick around with their teams for a long while. Guys like Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Aaron Rodgers have been around their teams forever, and they’ve gone down in the history books for being great players to use in Madden games.

Some players are great for their offensive talents, defensive abilities, speed, arm strength or whatever makes them special. What matters most to fans is how they contribute to their respective teams’ success, and each team has that one special someone that did just that.

Without further ado, in honor of those types of players, here is each team’s greatest Madden player of all-time.

Chicago Bears: Devin Hester

While many could technically put Walter Payton as the Chicago Bears’ best Madden player of all-time for this list, it’s a bit unfair considering he was never really a part of the game as an active player. To add onto that, it doesn’t get much more fun playing Madden than when Devin Hester was tearing it up in Chicago.

Back in 2007, Hester made Madden franchise history when he became the first player to ever have a speed rating of 100 in the game. While his receiving stats weren’t incredible, Hester was an amazing player to have when it came to your Madden team, especially for his kick returning ability.

Imagine having Michael Vick from the 2004 installment of Madden back fielding kickoffs for you, and taking them to the house with relative ease to help send your defense right back out on the field. That’s what having Hester was like back in Madden NFL 08, and he was truly gamebreaking.

You must be incredibly fast to break the Madden speed barrier of 99 previously held by guys like Deion Sanders, Randy Moss, Charles Woodson and a few others. That’s the type of speed Hester had, and he was an awesome player for any Madden player to enjoy.

While Payton was probably a better player to have on your roster in the more recent versions of the game, Hester was definitely a more enjoyable player to utilize on the field, and he takes the spot as the Bears’ best of all-time in the Madden universe.
