Following their NLCS win, star Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw celebrated by playing with his children on the field.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have just secured their spot in the World Series after defeating the Chicago Cubs and the Dodgers starting pitcher celebrated playing with his kids on the field.

Kershaw pitched six nearly flawless innings, leading the team to an 11-1 victory and securing their spot as the National League champions in the World Series. This will be the first World Series appearance for Kershaw and the first for the team since 1988.

"“It feels good to hear World Series,” said Kershaw following the game (h/t Yahoo! Sports) “It has been a long time coming for this team. I never thought I would play in a World Series. It’s tough to sink in right now.”"

The former three-time Cy Young Award winner was seen carrying his son Charley while chasing his daughter Cali around the pitcher’s mound at Wrigley Field. He allowed just one run on three hits with five strikeouts in his sixth playoff win.

The Dodgers defeated the Cubs (last seasons World Series champs) after winning the first three games of the National League Championship Series. The Cubs were able to secure a win on Wednesday (the only postseason loss for the Dodgers) but failed to stop the team on Thursday. The Dodgers secured a landslide win in game six.

Enrique Hernandez also stood out on Thursday night when he hit three home runs, including a grand slam in the third inning to solidify the team as the ones to beat.

Justin Turner and Chris Taylor were named as the NLCS Most Valuable Players.

The Dodgers will have to wait for the conclusion of the American League Championship series to end to know if they will face the New York Yankees or the Houston Astros in the World Series.
