13 Halloween movies for people who don’t like scary movies
By Jeremy Dick

1. Ghostbusters
And this all brings us to what has to be the best choice for a horror film if you don’t like scary movies. The original Ghostbusters movie is truly a remarkable film. Everybody knows what it is, and it has been that way ever since the classic comedy first hit theaters in the ’80s. To this day you are guaranteed to see costumes based on the film every trick or treat night.
In this movie, four men (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ivan Reitman, and Ernie Hudson) form a team called the Ghosbusters to combat the spirits taking over the city. Using their proton packs, the Ghostbusters are able to incarcerate these ghostly souls. Do you have a spirit tearing your house apart? Call the Ghostbusters!
Even if you’ve seen this movie some time ago, guess what? It still holds up. This is one of those movies that never gets old no matter how many times you watch it. We’ve got the amazing performances from all four members of the team and a hilarious script to boot. Even the special FX of the ghosts still look neat all this time later. It’s fun stuff and you will be glad you revisited the film.

Sure, there was a sequel that came later, and then a reboot more recently that wasn’t particularly well-received. Those films each have their pros and cons, sure, but as far as the original? It’s pretty perfect. All it needs is an excuse to watch it, and being the Halloween season, that sounds like a good enough one for me!
