The Green Bay Packers went into Soldier Field and pulled out a huge NFC North victory over the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon.

Prior to the Green Bay Packers taking on the Chicago Bears inside Soldier Field, many believed that this would be a low-scoring game. The Packers had Brett Hundley starting in place of the injured Aaron Rodgers, and the Bears were starting a rookie. Well, the experts were right on that low-scoring prediction, up until the fourth quarter, when this game got really interesting.

Prior to the fourth, the only really big play came when the Bears challenged themselves out of a touchdown, and into a turnover. That has been the story of the season for Chicago, who continues to try to build back up the franchise. Green Bay got a mediocre effort from Hundley for three quarters, but he showed up when the team needed him the most, leading his Packers to a huge NFC North victory.

Hundley and the Packers were only leading by three in the fourth quarter, after Mitchell Trubisky hit Joshua Bellamy for a 46-yard touchdown. After receiving the ball, Hundley drove his team down the field, before hitting Davante Adams for a 19-yard touchdown, which would put his team in the lead for good. Chicago hit a field goal with a little over three minutes left to pull within three, and the game got really interesting when Mason Crosby missed a field goal to give the Bears the ball back with a little over a minute left in the game.

Chicago had a shot to tie the game after the missed kick, but the defense of the Packers stood tall. On a fourth-and-10, Trubisky hit Benny Cunningham for only a seven-yard gain, turning the ball over on downs. The win was not only significant in the standings for Green Bay, but also for Hundley’s confidence, as he found a way to make plays in crunch time to pick up his first win as an NFL starter.

Betting Odds

The Packers came into this game as three-point underdogs, mostly due to the fact they were playing on the road, and Hundley has looked bad under center. The over/under was set at only 38 points, which made sense considering these two teams are not offensive juggernauts. Well, they combined to make the over, and the Packers were able to win outright. Three Stars

1. Davante Adams, Green Bay Packers

The veteran wideout made his presence known in the fourth quarter, catching a huge touchdown from Brett Hundley, and then an even bigger third down conversion. His 42-yard catch on third-and-10 brought the game to the two minute warning, and really iced it for Green Bay. Adams finished the game with five catches for 90 yards and a score.

2. Nick Perry, Green Bay Packers

Perry was a beast on the defensive side of the ball for the Packers on Sunday, racking up three sacks against the rookie Mitchell Trubisky. The Bears had no answer for him, and in one stretch, he racked up two sacks in three plays. The Green Bay defense really was a difference maker in this one, and they might have saved the Packers season with their effort on Sunday.

3. Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago Bears

Mitchell Trubisky is still feeling his way around being an NFL quarterback, and that showed at times on Sunday. However, once the Bears actually let him throw the ball down the field, he showed the kind of promise that made him the No. 2 overall pick in last April’s Draft. The signal-caller was kept his team in the game, and finished without an interception and nearly 300 yards passing.
