High Salary Wings

Alex Ovechkin, SJ@WSH ($8600): Starting us off is a shot taking machine, Alex Ovechkin. His floor is so high he becomes a safe play just on his shots on goal alone. With only four games we need to find pivot plays off this exact type of player, he will be highly owned and should be considered chalk tonight.

Anders Lee, NYI@FLA ($6600): With 15 goals and 12 assists and 61 shots on goal this season Lee is well worth the price in this matchup. Florida’s shots on goal rank fifth in the NHL. He’s a lock with a safe 16.2 average fantasy point per game on the season. The shootout potential should make him a strong play.

Jonathan Huberdeau, NYI@FLA ($6100): Time on ice for goal scorers is the key to value. He is getting an average of 21 minutes per game and averages 14.8 fantasy points per game. Pay less for Huberdeau and don’t spend big on Ovechkin.

High Value Wings

Josh Bailey, NYI@FLA ($5800): With five goals and 25 assists, Josh Bailey skates with John Tavares and Anders Lee on the top line. For this price, he is a safe play with a high floor due to his blocked shots and high assist totals.

Radim Vrbata, NYI@FLA ($4500): In addition to my other Panthers this one could break the slate tonight. Vrbata was an animal last season for the Canucks, so many times he would appear in winning lineups it makes one ill. Sniper is how he would best be described him and he is just getting going after a slow start. Hard to sell you on his recent stats but heres one, his ceiling is 46.1 FPS.

Nick Bjugstad, NYI@FLA ($3900): Nick Bjugstad is playing on the top line for Florida with this price in a plus matchup. If this game plays out the Vegas oddsmaker predicts, both teams should see the twine tonight. Bjugstad doubled his average fantasy point totals last game with 18.4 fantasy points.
