Crystal Palace and Bournemouth enter the weekend in the bottom third of the Premier League table. Palace are third from the bottom with 10 points, while Bournemouth are 14th with 15 points.
Under Roy Hodgson, the Eagles have picked up points in five of their previous six games. However, the club had to settle for draws in four games, picking up seven points over the previous six games. Scoring goals have been a problem for Crystal Palace, who were held to scoreless draws in their last two games. The club is tied with Swansea with a Premier League low eight goals. Wilfried Zaha leads the club with three goals but has not scored in his last three games. Christian Benteke is still looking for his first goal this season. The Belgium striker has been unable to find the back of the goal since returning from injury on Nov. 18.
Bournemouth are slightly better going forward than Palace but their 13 goals are the fifth least of any team this season. However, the Cherries have allowed only 17 goals, the sixth-best mark in the league. Eddie Howe’s team have had some success lately, picking up eight points in their last five games. The Cherries are still looking for an answer up front. Callum Wilson leads the club with three goals after scoring a hat-trick on Nov. 18. Joshua King and Jermain Defoe have combined for three goals but have scored only once since the end of September.
