19. West Brom: Support Salomon Rondon

Salomon Rondon is too talented a striker to have so few goals to his credit. The Baggies have to make a resolution to offer their gifted target man better support in the new year.

Fortunately, manager Alan Pardew has the players to make it happen. Tony Pulis’ successor needs to coax more expansive and stylish soccer from his squad.

It’s a challenge demanding putting more attackers on the pitch. Pards must start forward Jay Rodriguez more often, as well as deploying Oliver Burke behind the strikers.

Burke has the technique and vision to add the creative edge West Brom have been missing. Similarly, the pace of Rodriguez can offer the ideal complement to Rondon’s strength and ability to play with his back to goal.

More than just personnel, the Baggies need to make a full commitment to forcing matches more in forward areas.
