Chicago Bears part ways with head coach John Fox
By Jack Crosby
After another disappointing season, the Chicago Bears have parted ways with head coach John Fox.
With the NFL regular season coming to a close on Sunday, that means Black Monday is in full swing. Teams from around the league are deciding whether or not to keep their head coaches after sub-par seasons, and one of the teams that has made a decision is the Chicago Bears. After three seasons at the helm, John Fox is no longer the head coach of the team.
Early in the day on Monday, the Bears released an official statement announcing they have parted ways with their head coach, opening up what some might call one of the most lucrative jobs in the NFL.

Fox joined the Bears before the 2015 season as the team was hoping he could replicate the success that he had as coach of the Denver Broncos prior to that. However, that really never came to fruition, as Fox and the Bears have finished last in the NFC North in each of his three seasons at the helm. After the team finished 5-11 on Sunday during the final week of the regular season, the decision to let Fox go was a fairly easy one for the organization.
Again, this Bears opening is one of the more intriguing to watch in the NFL. One of the most historical organizations in the league, you’ll more than likely hear a lot of familiar names be rumored to potentially take the opening. And of course, you will probably also hear whispers of Jim Harbaugh leaving the college ranks and the Michigan Wolverines to maybe take the job.
Black Monday is here, and the Bears were one of the first teams to announce an opening.
