Rockets superstar James Harden will be out for two weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Houston Rockets injury bug has found its way to James Harden.

After surviving the loss of Chris Paul for the first quarter of the season, the Rockets will now have to string together victories without their best player.  According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, Harden will be on the sidelines for the next two weeks with a hamstring injury.

Behind Harden, the Rockets offense has been the league’s most devastating. They can light up an NBA scoreboard at will, and with Paul aboard, it seems like nobody can contain their high-powered assault.

The loss of Harden, though, will slow their attack somewhat. Everything that Houston runs on their offense goes through Harden, and the Rockets may find life without him a bit hard as they will have to change how they run their offense.

Fortunately though, they have a cache of weapons that should keep the Rockets afloat for the next two weeks. They have a star in Paul who can keep the offense humming along, and Eric Gordon is a scoring machine.

Add that to the fact that they will be facing such teams as the Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls, Phoenix Suns and the disappointing Los Angeles Clippers, and the Rockets should be OK while Harden heels his hamstring.

The schedule over the next two weeks isn’t all soft as Charmin, however. In between games with the slumping Magic, last-place Bulls, and dormant Suns, the Rockets will see the Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, and the improving Portland Trail Blazers, games where wins will not be easy to come by.

Nevertheless, the Rockets, with their arsenal of weapons, should be a-OK while Harden is back. Just view it is a small bump-in-the-road for a team that has as dreams of a championship dancing in their heads.
