LeSean McCoy to play vs. Jaguars

The Buffalo Bills appear to have gotten good news on Sunday morning, with star running back LeSean McCoy likely to play in the Wild Card round.

Buffalo is playing in its first postseason game since 1999, taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1 p.m. ET at EverBank Field. The Bills, who come into the game as nine-point underdogs, are going to apparently see LeSean McCoy take the field, despite seeing him carted off with a sprained ankle in a Week 17 win over the Miami Dolphins.

McCoy is easily the most important player to the Buffalo offense, especially when you consider that no wide receiver even had 500 receiving yards. McCoy rushed for 1,138 yards and six scores on the season, helping Buffalo to a shocking postseason berth with a 9-7 record.

Without McCoy, the Bills would have been forced to throw the ball more, something they don’t want to do with Tyrod Taylor. Taylor has only thrown four interceptions all year, but that number could rise considering the mismatches on the outside, with his overwhelmed receivers going against Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye.

Buffalo has not won a playoff game since beating the Miami Dolphins in the 1995 AFC Wild Card round. Meanwhile, the Jaguars have not hosted a playoff game since losing to the Tennessee Titans in the 1999 AFC Championship Game, the closest the franchise has come to the Super Bowl.

If the Bills win on Sunday, they would go to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots. A win for the Jaguars would send them to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers, who Jacksonville beat 30-9 in the regular season at Heinz Field.
