Thomas Lemar

With Alexis Sanchez’s future at the Emirates up in the air, Arsenal would do well to grab a replacement for him should he depart the club in January. A move to Manchester City, Manchester United or even Chelsea is a possibility for Sanchez. Should he leave, Arsenal will lose a ton of offensive production as a result. One name who has been on the radar of several top teams is Thomas Lemar. The French international currently plays for Monaco in Ligue 1 and was linked with several clubs during the summer.

The left winger/midfielder is only 22, just like Gimenez, and has been exquisite for both club and country over the last two seasons. Lemar brings pace and skill to the left flank, similar to Sanchez. He also has Champions League experience as he helped Monaco during their improbable run to the semifinals last year. This increases his value for Arsenal as they will need experienced players should they make their way into the Champions League next season.

Monaco have expressed an interest in keeping Lemar until the summer to extract the most value out of him. Arsenal will need to break the bank for Lemar, especially to get him in before the summer. It’s possible, and it’s a move the Gunners should make. Lemar will have more suitors during the summer, but as of right now, they seem to lead the race to land him.
