2018 NBA Mock Draft: Collin Sexton could break open the New York Knicks’ ceiling
What Utah needs most right now is offensive creation and creativity. Bridges, who really chips in wherever he’s needed from night to night, could bring it.
Statistically, the main difference between Bridges this year and last year is his ability to make plays for his teammates without turning the ball over. He has a nearly identical usage rate and scores basically the same amount of points per game, but he has taken on more of a play-making role this year, and it’s worked well.
The Jazz will eventually use Donovan Mitchell as their primary ball-handler, but he will need plus creators on the court with him until he learns that position completely. Bridges can shoot open spot-up attempts or drive to the rim if he has an open lane, but he will be active regardless, setting screens and moving the ball.
Few guys in college basketball do more just to smooth the edges of team success than Bridges, who returned to school with a championship in mind and just may get one. The Jazz should snatch him up here if he indeed enters the draft this summer.
