High Salary PF

LaMarcus Aldridge, SA vs HOU ($8,900): Aldridge was right at value on Tuesday against the Nuggets, posting 39 fantasy points in that contest. He had 29.2 fantasy points against the Rockets on Dec. 15. The Rockets are 17th against the position in their last 15 games. I don’t exactly love Aldridge in this game. He hasn’t been playing well as of late and the Rockets can be a tricky matchup for him. He needs 38.5 fantasy points to hit value. At this salary, he’s a slight risk, but should produce a decent enough game. ***

Blake Griffin, DET vs MEM ($8,700): It’s not 100 percent certain that Griffin will make his debut on Thursday, but your high salary options are limited on Thursday to only Griffin and Aldridge. And if Griffin doesn’t play, Aldridge is your only real option. If Griffin does play, I expect a productive night from the former Clipper. The pairing between he and Drummond will take a while to gel, but players usually defer to the new option in the first game and the energy carries the team through any struggle. The energy should be good in Detroit given the trade and the matchup, with the Grizzlies on a back-to-back. ****

Carmelo Anthony, OKC at DEN ($6,200): Anthony is well under the average player salary, but he’s the highest salary remaining. He’s been hit-and-miss in recent contests. He’s also been hit-and-miss against the Nuggets this season. He had 41 fantasy points in Denver on Nov. 9, but managed just 12.2 fantasy points on Dec. 18. Anthony gets plenty of good looks in the Thunder offense, it’s just a matter of him knocking down those shots. He has helped his value with strong play on the boards and decent defense. The Nuggets are 21st against the position in their last 15 games. ***
