High Value PG

Ish Smith, DET vs LAC ($6,100): Smith was back over value on Wednesday against the Nets, contributing 29.2 fantasy points in that contest. His salary has dipped, which should make it easier for him to be over value on Friday. The Clippers are all over the place, but on the road against a fired up Blake Griffin with teammates who want to win this one for him, doesn’t give me a lot of confidence in how they’ll fare. That’s good news for multiple Pistons, including their starting point guard. He should push 30 fantasy points once again. ****

Jeff Teague, MIN at CHI ($6,100): Teague had 42.1 fantasy points against the Cavaliers on Wednesday. He won’t have Isaiah Thomas to pick on in Chicago, but this is still a great matchup for Teague and other plays on the Timberwolves. The Bulls are 15th against the position in their last 15 games. The Timberwolves should be fired up for this one after Wednesday’s heartbreaker and Jimmy Butler’s return. ****

Jose Calderon, CLE at ATL ($4,500): This is all about circumstances. Pay no attention to Calderon’s recent games, he’s the last point guard standing in Cleveland. George Hill, Rodney Hood, and Jordan Clarkson are unlikely to play on Friday. If one of them plays, Calderon probably isn’t worth it. But if they are all out, Calderon is going to see big minutes alongside LeBron James. It helps that the matchup is against the lowly Hawks. He’s a low-cost option on a busy night who should perform well over value given the circumstances. ****
