High Value PF

Lauri Markkanen, CHI vs MIN ($6,400): Markkanen is expected to return to the lineup on Friday. He hasn’t played since Jan. 28 against the Bucks. He’s a slight risk coming off the injury, but this is his team right now and he’s delivered more often than not as a rookie. With Nikola Mirotic gone, Markkanen will receive the bulk of the frontcourt minutes, with only Bobby Portis threatening his spot. Expect the Bulls forward to be back to his value hitting ways against a poor Timberwolves defense. ****

Taj Gibson, MIN at CHI ($5,800): Potentially lost in the homecoming for Jimmy Butler is the fact that this is a homecoming for Taj Gibson as well. He has not played the Bulls since being traded by the, at last years trade deadline. He contributed 24 fantasy points against the Cavaliers and has seen his salary drop. He needs 24.4 fantasy points to reach value on Friday. The Timberwolves will make every effort to get Gibson and Butler involved. They’ll deliver with strong performances. ****

John Collins, ATL vs CLE ($5,200): The Hawks are on a back-to-back, but the Cavaliers are 29th against the position in their last 15 games. Tristan Thompson is will likely be the only true power forward/center in the lineup for the Cavaliers, unless Larry Nance Jr. is able to play. Collins could have an easier than usual time in the paint and on the glass given the circumstances. He’s averaging 31.3 fantasy points in two games against Cleveland this season. ****
